Over the past week, the national average cost of gas showed minimal movement, declining by two cents to $3.07 per gallon. According to AAA, this minor shift is attributed to unremarkable figures in both the cost of oil and gasoline demand. Georgia’s statewide average stands at $2.95 per gallon, reflecting a 3-cent decrease from last week, a 7-cent decrease from last month, and a 7-cent increase from last year.

Here in Augusta, a gallon of regular gas is also $2.95 and has remained relatively stagnant over the past month. Meanwhile, the cost of diesel has gone down four cents over the same period, landing at its current rate of $3.82 per gallon.
